We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Prosecutions Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum contract.

They are looking for someone on a full-time basis, and the rate of pay is negotiable between £50 - £65 p/hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing prosecutions and enforcement matters, from initial inception through to court advocacy.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Handling a varied caseload of Criminal Litigation matters and Prosecutions on behalf of the Council
• Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
• Conducting advocacy as required in relation to cases involving anti-social behaviour, trading standards, environmental health and licensing matters

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government
• Highly confident advocating in court

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
