A London Borough Council is seeking an experienced Locum Contracts & Procurement Solicitor to join their legal team on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong potential to extend beyond the initial term.

Key Details:

• Start: ASAP

• Duration: 3 months initially, with a strong likelihood of extension

• Working Pattern: Hybrid (some office presence required)

• Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will support the legal team across a varied contracts and procurement caseload. Responsibilities include:

• Drafting and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts

• Supporting procurement compliance and strategy across council departments

• Advising on and drafting construction-related contracts (essential, but not the main focus)

• Providing clear, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor or legal executive with relevant public sector experience

• Strong working knowledge of public procurement law and practice

• Experience handling construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC)

• Willingness to attend the office when required (hybrid flexibility available)
