Housing Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor

Contract initially until 31/12/25, may be extended

Rate: Negotiable, Umbrella

36 hours per week

Location: Hybrid (Westminster Office & Remote)

You will be responsible for managing a busy caseload of housing litigation matters, including:

Possession proceedings

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) injunctions

Disrepair claims

Tenancy-related advice

Succession and other housing law matters

You will report to the Principal Lawyer and work closely with colleagues across Legal Services and Housing teams.

• Take over and manage a live caseload of 50+ complex housing litigation matters
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal clients
• Represent the council in court proceedings and liaise with counsel where necessary
• Draft legal documents and correspondence
• Respond to new instructions efficiently and support the wider team during high-demand periods
